This post is in partnership with Colour Envy Painting. All opinions are 100% my own.
We moved to our new house! It’s a familiar place to us because it was my husband’s grandparent’s house for the last 20 years. It’s on a small acreage outside of St. Albert. We are excited this day has finally come!
Matt and I have big plans for this house – a renovation and building of a (hopefully) two-story addition in the next couple of years. So, I was able to negotiate some minimal changes with Matt that would not be wasteful but would update the space to our style.
The first thing on my list: finding a residential painting service near me to tackle the dark maroon feature walls in the open dining, kitchen, and living room. I wanted the two walls to be white which matched the ceiling and would brighten up the room.
I debated painting the walls myself, but I trusted Colour Envy Painting to do a better job at matching the ceiling colour and tackling the multiple layers of primer and paint than myself with 4 kids running around.
The last time Matt and I painted a room was when we started dating 10 years ago – I was switching rooms at my family’s house, I chose to paint my bedroom walls a lavender purple. It took all day to do one coat of paint for two 18-year-olds, and even after a full day, the details around the baseboards were not very good.
So, I am happy with the paint results in our new house! It was easy to book, and they did a great job. I liked that Colour Envy Painting uses an online booking feature once you have sent in your residential painting service request. It was easy to book a date, and request new projects in the future.
Seeing the new changes to our house makes me excited to start planning the upcoming renovations and addition! And I look forward to sharing more and more about that process.
