How I love versatile pieces!
Taking your outfit from work to weekend all starts with how you buy clothing and build up your wardrobe. It is honestly not that difficult merging your work and non-work wardrobes, I find it exhausting having two completely separate wardrobes. So, what are the first steps?
Style Staples | this includes all my neutral pattern/no pattern clothing. They are my basics. Your staples can be any colour, texture, style – they’re the building blocks to your wardrobe. In these outfits the sweater is the style staple.
Deluxe Details | this is where you customize your outfit – whether it’s for a coffee date, a wedding, a meeting, or a dinner – make it your own! The minute I saw these skirts I had to have them and they are my muses for each outfit. They set the tone. With the short flare skirt it had the structure I want for formal meetings and the pattern’s colours were perfect for all. While the maxi skirt’s feminine floral pattern was ideal for a Saturday morning at the city farmer’s market.
This is why I love fashion! As everyone knows it’s ever evolving in the fashion industry but my favourite part is watching an individual’s fashion sense grow. For myself I wore sweat pants daily throughout high school, so seeing where I am now and what I enjoy wearing makes me a bit giddy because I know in the next few years I will be looking back and seeing how far I’ve expanded myself in my fashion journey.
