What is the difference between wool and boiled wool? First off, they’re both still wool but the boiled wool has been boiled (it’s really that simple). And by boiling the wool it shrinks so when it’s made into clothes it doesn’t let the wind in or your heat out – making it warmer than regular wool. I’ve always noticed how warm my wool coats are but they never can protect me from the wind, it goes straight through the coat.

So when you’re shopping for your wool coats, capes, vests, and ponchos this year look for boiled wool. It’ll be worth your while this winter!
